Ethereum Transaction Fees Keep Falling
Ethereum transactions have become noticeably cheaper in recent months.
The average transaction fee peaked at around $0.72 on April 21. Today, the average cost of a transaction is estimated at just $0.095.
That’s a decline of almost 87%.
Lower Fees Despite a Higher ETH Price
What’s particularly interesting is that fees have fallen even though the market value of ETH is now higher than it was during parts of the year.
Transaction costs on Ethereum are influenced by network demand and block space usage. When activity cools down, users generally pay less to get their transactions included.
The current numbers suggest that transferring ETH on the network has become considerably cheaper.
Why It Matters
Low transaction fees can make Ethereum more attractive for everyday transfers and applications that depend on frequent on-chain activity.
For users, the difference between paying a few cents and paying close to a dollar per transaction is significant.
It also shows how much Ethereum’s transaction economics can change depending on network conditions.
For now, one thing is clear:
Using Ethereum has become much cheaper than it was at the April peak.
